Learning Facilitation and Learner Support
Tutor Support
For our degree programmes, NEFA’s participants will be assigned a tutor when they enrol on their first module, and they’ll usually have different tutors for each of the modules they study for their qualification. The OU has a network of more than 5,000 tutors – the largest in the UK.
Before the participant starts the tutor will contact them to welcome them and, help understand what study will be like. They’ll set expectations, such as deadlines for assignments, tutorials and other learning activities. They’ll also clarify how and when they can be contacted, and how quickly they will respond.
Once modules have started tutors mark and provide feedback on assignments and support progress through other learning activities.
Tutors will arrange online and face-to-face tutorials, some of which may be recorded for students to catch up with at a later date. They will also mark assignments and provide feedback, guide students to the right learning resources and provide individual guidance to further develop study skills.
