CONSTRUCTION

City & Guilds Award / Certificate / Diploma Level 1

Course Duration

Up to 37 weeks
Attendance is 16 hours per week over a four-day period on the education programme. The football is tailored around the education programme.

Entry Requirements

Must be aged 16-18 and officially left school
Must be a UK or EU Citizen or have permanent right to remain in the UK

Introduction to Health and Safety in Construction
Constructing a half brink corner (Brickwork)
Constructing a half brick wall (Brickwork)
Introduction to the Construction industry
Installing rainwater good (basic plumbing)
Laying block paving (paving)
Laying domestic underground drainage
Laying Paving using slabs (Paving)
Fixing architraves and skirting (Carpentry)
Painting Techniques (Painting)
Painting a panel door (Painting)

What qualifications can I achieve?

City & Guilds Award / Certificate / Diploma Level 1
English and Maths Functional skills entry level to GCSE

Travel Expenses / Attendance Allowance

If you are aged between 16-18 years we can refund your travel expenses by bus or train from your home address to LifeSkills. This will be paid a week in arrears. You will also receive a £40 bursary every four weeks. This is based on full attendance each week, good timekeeping and positively participating in lessons.
