How about a LifeSkills Sports or Sports and Football Programme?
On the course you will work towards a Level 2 and/or Level 3 qualification, both have a brilliant selection of course content to give you the knowledge and skills to kick start your sports related career.
There are two options available to you:
Route One – Do you want to work in sport or be a gym instructor? The LifeSkills Sports Study Programme is a great starting point and will help you put the knowledge you will learn in the classroom into practice and develop the skills employers are looking for to kick-start your career. On the course you will work towards a Level 2 and/or Level 3 qualification, both have a brilliant selection of course content to give you the knowledge and skills to kick start your sports related career.
Route Two – Do you want to develop as a footballer? To compliment your LifeSkills Sports Study Programme, working in conjunction with our partner the North of England Football Academy – NEFA, you have the opportunity to develop your football skills and knowledge of the industry through their highly qualified, experienced and skilled coaching team.
Level 3 BTEC National Diploma in Sport, Fitness and Personal Training content includes:
• Careers in the sport and leisure industry
• Health, wellbeing and sport
• Fitness skills development
• Nutrition for physical performance
• Fitness Testing
• Fitness Training
Level 2 Gym Instructor course includes:
• Health and safety in a fitness environment
• Supporting clients who exercise
• Planning gym based exercise
• Instructing gym based exercise.
Whichever course you take there are some excellent progression routes available.
• A further sports coaching course
• Go to university
• Progress into employment in a sports related field, perhaps as a coach, instructor or personal trainer
• Put the coaching you have had into practice and take your football career to the next level.
All of our programmes are designed to help you develop your English and Maths and improve your grades where needed. You will also get the chance to get some local work experience and help you put what you have learnt on the course into practice and get that vital experience on to your CV.
So, no matter what type of business you want to work in, the Sports Study Programme could be your first step in helping you get your first job in sport or getting an apprenticeship.

The course is delivered in a vocational manner, with assessments ranging from written reports, portfolios and posters to verbal assessments, presentations, and practical observations.
During the first-year, students will study the BTEC 90 Credit Diploma, which on successful completion will enable them to progress onto the BTEC Extended Diploma in year two.
Upon successful completion of the BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma, students will have the equivalent of three A levels. The course not only serves as a route to full time employment, it is also a proven progression route to Higher Education, such as University and degree level.
Students must hold a valid UK, EU or EEA passport and have the right to residency and study in the UK. Students must turn 16 prior to August the 1st and must not have turned 19 until after the 31st of August 2021.

All transport to and from college is paid for (students get weekly bus pass)
All education materials are provided
Monthly £40 bursary paid to all students*
*Monthly bursary requires all students to attend all college and football sessions and satisfy staff in respect to their attitude and behaviour.
